This collection is our artistic re-interpretation of three different seeds and nuts which embody special meanings. ‘Melon seeds’ is gua zi (瓜子), with gua reminiscent of wa (娃), a fond wording for infants, while zi literally means sons (heir) or seeds. A symbol of fertility, melon seeds are a popular refreshment in Chinese wedding banquets, hinting blessings upon the newlyweds longing for offspring.
